Our Perfect Planet - EYFS

Our Perfect Planet

This week our family topic planning has focussed on our ‘Perfect Planet’ and we have been delighted by the high quality, thoughtful work that has been submitted in response. Mrs Smith, from Ladybird Class writes ‘In Year R we have been learning about plastic and how it can harm the sea and its marine life.

The children at home and school have been making up their own songs to educate people about ways in which we can make a difference and change our use of plastic.  This is a theme that we are working hard on as a school - Can we reduce the amount of plastic that we use?

On Google Meet this morning, three children from Ladybird performed their amazing songs and then in class children worked together to make up their own musical masterpieces! One song from went like this (to the tune of twinkle twinkle):

Put the plastic in the (recycle) bin,

Don't put it in the sea.

Animals might get hurt,

Animals might get sick.

Put the plastic in the bin,

Don't put it in the sea.’

Mrs Duck was lucky enough to be invited to a live performance of a song in Butterfly Class this morning to the tune of Baby Shark, it’s amazing how catchy ‘Save our world! Doo-doo-doo-doo-do-do-do-do’ still is a couple of hours later.
